Taylor Alison Swift

Taylor Swift, born on December 13, 1989, is an American singer-songwriter renowned for her autobiographical lyrics, frequent artistic reinventions, and significant cultural influence. She is a major figure in contemporary popular music and remains the focus of considerable public interest.

Taylor Swift signed with Big Machine Records in 2005, debuting as a country pop singer with her first two albums, Taylor Swift (2006) and Fearless (2008). Her singles "Teardrops on My Guitar," "Love Story," and "You Belong with Me" achieved success on both country and pop radio. She explored rock on Speak Now (2010) and electronic music on Red (2012), before shifting her image to pop with the synth-pop album 1989 (2014). The media scrutiny that followed led to the creation of Reputation (2017), hip-hop-influenced album featuring hit singles like "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," "Shake It Off," "Blank Space," "Bad Blood," and "Look What You Made Me Do."

In 2018, Swift transitioned to Republic Records, releasing the electropop album Lover (2019) and the documentary Miss Americana (2020). She delved into indie folk with the 2020 albums Folklore and Evermore, and explored subdued pop genres with Midnights (2022) and The Tortured Poets Department (2024). Amidst an ownership dispute with Big Machine, she re-recorded four of her earlier albums under the Taylor's Version label. These re-recorded albums produced U.S. number-one hits including "Cruel Summer," "Cardigan," "Willow," "All Too Well," "Anti-Hero," "Is It Over Now?", and "Fortnight."

Her sixth tour, the Eras Tour (2023–2024), and its corresponding concert film are the highest-grossing tour and film of all time. Swift became the first billionaire solely from music and is the highest-grossing female touring act. With an estimated global record sales of 200 million, she is one of the best-selling music artists ever. Seven of her albums have sold over one million copies in a week. Recognized by Rolling Stone, Billboard, and Forbes as one of the greatest artists in history, Swift was also named Time's Person of the Year (2023), the only individual from the arts to receive the honor. Her awards include 14 Grammy Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, 40 American Music Awards, 39 Billboard Music Awards, and 23 MTV Video Music Awards. She has won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, the MTV Video Music Award for Video of the Year, and the IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year a record four times each.
